Meet Our Team
VKCo was founded in 1939 and has a prestigious 77-year history of laundry contract management, InSourcing, laundry-linen-drycleaning consulting, and laundry engineering design services to more than 1,000 individual hotels and hotel companies, hospital systems, central and commercial laundries, architects, community rehabilitation facilities, and government and military agencies nationwide and internationally. Meet the VKCo team of experts, as follows:
Mr. Mara joined VKCo in 1972 and was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in April of 1984. During his 32-years as President, he has been deeply involved in nationwide and international hotel and healthcare laundry assignments to analyze and improve operations and systems, conduct economic feasibility and market studies, prepare business plans, and develop short or long-term strategic development plans.
Mr. Mara served on the Board of several hospital central laundries, three joint venture central laundry projects, and numerous community projects in his home state. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Bridgeport. Mr. Mara has authored many articles on a wide variety of laundry-linen subjects, has lectured at the Cornell School of Hotel Administrators.
Richard G. Griego Jr.
Director of Business Development
As Director of Business Development, Richard G. Griego Jr. is responsible for market share growth within the North America market. Mr. Griego reports directly to the President and has helped VK develop, coordinate and implement plans to increase existing business and capture new opportunities. Being keenly aware of the organizations growth initiatives, Richard also assists in the strategic marketing, operations planning and market analysis projects. Mr. Griego is a key contributor to the future success of VKCo.
Richard joined VKCo in 2016 coming from VKCo’s parent company, Crothall Laundry Services. Prior to Crothall, Richard was in the medical device and supply industry and has over 13 years of business development experience holding both leadership roles and individual sales roles. Mr. Griego holds a Political Science degree with two minors, Marketing and Sales & Leadership, from DePaul University. Richard resides in Chicago IL where spends his free time staying active within the fitness and equestrian community.
Senior Consultant/Operations Specialist
Mr. Anderson joined the VKCo Management Consulting Team in 2006 following a successful career in hotel management with the Fairmont and Four Season Hotels, and individual properties including the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Florida, and the Drake Hotel in Oak Brook, Illinois.
In his capacity with VKCo, Mr. Anderson is responsible for overseeing the company’s hospitality laundry management assignments that, collectively, provide laundry, uniform, and dry-cleaning services to 15 hotel properties processing over 60-million pounds per year. Mr. Anderson also assists VKCo on various consulting assignments and is VKCo’s liaison with its corporate parent.
Sheldon received a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Operations at the University of Houston, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He completed several Management Courses during his employment with Four Seasons and Fairmont Hotels. Mr. Anderson is a National Squash Referee, and a certified instructor and assessor of Squash Officials. He is also a member of the United States Squash Board of Directors, and played for the United States National Team in 2005.
Thomas C. Mara
Senior Consultant/Operations Specialist
Mr. Mara gained his extensive experience in the laundry industry over the last 25 years as General Manager of an 8 million pound central laundry in the Bronx, New York, and as a Laundry Manager of a 500-bed healthcare laundry in New Jersey. Since becoming part of VKCo’s Management Consulting Team, he has been assigned as a senior consultant to various healthcare and hospitality accounts including: Ritz-Carlton Hotels; Host Hotels; Hilton Worldwide; Lyford Cay Club in Nassau, Bahamas; the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina; Colonial Williamsburg Hotels in Williamsburg, Virginia; Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas; and others.
TC is also responsible for overseeing the 5 of the company’s hospitality laundry management assignments that, collectively, provide laundry, uniform, and dry-cleaning services. TC graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Economics, and completed several technical programs sponsored by the International Fabricare Institute
Mr. Clark directs all elements of VKCo’s laundry design projects. He offers particular expertise in laundry systems and equipment and has developed standards for laundry space allocation and equipment layout as a result of extensive analyses conducted in central and institutional laundry facilities worldwide.
Since becoming a member of VKCo’s Management Consulting Team in 1976, Mr. Clark has been directly responsible for designing over 100 on-premise and centralized laundries in North America, the Caribbean, and internationally.
He has written extensively on laundry equipment systems and on energy and resources reclamation and conservation. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Sciences from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Mr. Miller joined Victor Kramer Company in 1986. During his 30-years with VKCo, Mr. Miller played a key leadership role in the company’s growth. Mr. Miller’s extensive experience in the institutional textile field has given him a unique ability to analyze trends and identify areas in need of research, development and systematizing. Steve has extensive involvement in projects concerning laundry operations and systems, economic feasibility studies, master plans, and development of linen control systems for healthcare systems, hotels, cruise lines, and government agencies in the United States and internationally including: Portland Hospital Services Corporation, Northwell Health (formerly North Shore LIJ, Hackensack University Medical Center, Florida Hospital System, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Hilton Worldwide, Marriott International, Atlantis Paradise Island, and New Zealand Ministry of Health.
Mr. Miller earned his B.A. at the University of Connecticut and received a Graduate Certificate in Business Systems from the New York University and completed numerous management, safety, and sales training courses.
Sam has been a valuable member of VKCo’s management team for 6 years and has worked in the laundry industry for 25 years. At VKCo, he has served in numerous complex consulting assignments for hospitals and hotels throughout the United States, the Caribbean, and internationally.
Mr. Nolder devised operational and reporting systems and procedures for productive, cost-efficient laundry service. He has in-depth experience in all areas of laundry operations and hospital linen control systems. Prior to joining VKCo, Mr. Nolder, during the period of 2003 through 2010, was General Manager of FDR Services, Front Royal, Virginia and Alsco, Portsmouth, Virginia. Prior to enter the laundry industry Sam worked in the waste disposal industry.
Sam is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.
Sheryll Zeck Morse
Ms. Morse joined the Victor Kramer Team in 2007, when the company replaced Five Star Laundry as operators of the JW Marriott Grande Lakes Laundry.
Sheryll served as Unit Manager of the company’s Ritz-Carlton Dallas Hotel Laundry in 2008, and she currently provides support services as part of the Task Force Team at the Ritz-Carlton Properties in Dove Mountain, Denver, South Beach, Dorado Beach, Westchester, Rancho Mirage, Charlotte, and other properties including Swissotel and Eau Palm Beach Resort and Spa.
As part of the various Task Force Team, Sheryll sets up all office and reporting procedures, organizes all human resource duties, employee training, and OSHA compliance. Sheryll also services as Interim Manager at the company’s accounts during transition of Unit Managers.
VKCo’s staff members have backgrounds in industrial engineering, fabrics, wash-room chemistry, nursing, business administration, finance, computer science, laundry & dry cleaning management, and the like, and are supported by a technical and office staff which includes engineers, systems analysts, draftsmen, statisticians, researchers, report writers, specialists in material handling and machinery systems, washing technology, textiles, government regulations and compliance, total quality management, sales and marketing, management and employee training, and safety and motivation. VKCo’s team members are individuals who have distinguished themselves and earned their credentials in the laundry industry.
